Kochi experiences moderate climate, since it is quite close to the sea. Due to the southwest monsoon, Kochi experiences heavy rains between June-August. Winters commence from December and continue to rest till February. In summer, temperature rises up to 35 degree Celsius and dips down to 25 degree Celsius in winters.

Bolghatty Palace
This palace is one of the most visited and popular tourist attractions in Kochi. This Dutch palace is situated on the Bolghatty Island. You can enjoy a stay at this palace, which has now been converted into a luxury hotel. The island has a fine golf course and the panoramic view that makes it an attractive picnic spot. Frequent boat service is available from the mainland.

Mattancherry Palace ( Dutch Palace)
Mattancherry Palace ( Dutch Palace): This palace is a beautiful place which was built by Portuguese in 1557. But, it was during 17th century Dutch occupied it and modified it. They then presented it to the King of Kochi. That is why this palace is also referred to as the Dutch Palace. One can see the spectacular Murals depicting the wonderful scene from the Ramayana, Mahabharata and some of the other Hindu legends.

Santa Cruz Basilica
Santa Cruz Basilica holds prime importance for the Christians residing in Kochi. This monumental church celebrates the dawn of Christian religion in the mysterious land of India. St. Francis Church

Vasco De Gama was the first European to explore the sea route to India. Incidentally, after few years, the remains of Vasco da Gama's were moved to Lisbon, Portugal. Cherai Beach
Cherai Beach, is a unique beach bordering Vypeen Island. This beach is a perfect combination of sea and backwaters. This place is ideal for swimming and you can also view Dolphins watching. The backwaters are perfect combination of canals, estuaries, lakes and lagoons. For the safety of the beach, trained security staff is employed round the clock in the beach. There is also a separate park meant for children. The main attractions of this place are a typical Kerala village with paddy fields and also the coconut groves. Pareekshith Thampuran Museum
Pareekshith Thampuran Museum is a sprawling and conventional Kerala style building which was formerly referred to as the Durbar Hall. This Museum is a busy tourist spot of its prime significance from both the historical as well as archaeological point of view. So, tourists from far and wide, flock to this museum along with the historians and the archaeologists. This museum houses 19th century Mughal oil paintings; astonishing collection of old coins, and sculptures.

Thripunithura is the largest archaeological and hill-palace Museum in Kochi housing the exquisite collections of Kochi and Travancore royal families. This museum was built in 1865. This museum opens from Tuesday to Sunday. The main attractions of this place is that this is the first ever Heritage museum in Kerala.

Edapally has the gallery of impressive paintings and sculptures. This museum gives a glimpse of the bygone era of Kerala. This museum opens from Tuesday to Sunday from 10- 12 A.M and 2-4 P.M

Parur is 35 km north of Kochi and it encompasses the cultural and religious combination of this region. There are so many nice places to be viewed in Kochi. There is a Syrian Orthodox Church, a temple of goddess Mookambic, a synagogue, a Krishna Temple, and place of Brahmins.

Just 4 Kms away from Kochi, formerly known as Cochin is Chennamangalam. Chennamangalam encapsulates the oldest synagogue in God's own country-Kerala. You can also view Jesuit Church along with the ruins of a Jesuit College. You can also walk down to the Hindu Temple overlooking Periyar- the famous river, burial grounds, and 16th-century mosque.
